Door seals & draught proofing

A small gap can make a noticeable difference to comfort.

A suitable door-bottom strip can help reduce draughts and dust entering through an existing gap. Correct sizing matters: the strip needs to meet the floor appropriately while allowing the door to operate.

What we can discuss

  • Door-bottom strip supply and fitting
  • Replacement of worn accessible seals
  • Gap measurement
  • Position and clearance adjustment

How the work is approached

We measure the opening and clearance, select a suitable strip, install it and check the closing movement. Suitability depends on the door, floor finish and any building requirements.

What to send for a quote

Photograph the bottom edge with the door both open and closed. Include the door width, floor type and whether the door is an apartment entry.

What affects the quote?

Door width, the size and variation of the gap, the floor surface and the seal profile affect material selection and fitting. Removing an old strip, supplying a new one and adjusting clearance should be identified in the quote.

Send photos and your suburb. Jamie reviews the job before scope, materials and price are agreed.

Will a door strip completely soundproof the room?

No. A strip addresses one gap; sound, air and dust can also pass through other paths. We do not promise full soundproofing or a measured energy saving.
